Paper Parasol Press was born in 2009, but started a few years prior at the start of a long distance relationship. What began as a correspondence between Chicago, Illinois and St. Pete, Florida, turned into a full time business. In 2012, Paper Parasol Press moved to the San Francisco Bay Area. We now call California our home, but we remain inspired by our Midwest roots and true to the colors and energy of the West Coast. We are fans of handwritten correspondence, human connections, and artful designs.

Their artful line is created by using hand-applied production processes like paint and dye to add one-of-a-kind elements to each finished product. The production team in their Iowa-based studio thoughtfully applies layers of paint to extra thick sheets of paper before cutting them down, yielding unique compositions. Cards are dipped one at a time in custom blends of pigment and organic dyes. Each piece is finished on one of their antique presses where it is foil stamped, printed or die cut using traditional letterpress printing processes.

I started Imperfect Inspiration in February of 2021 after being diagnosed with ADHD as a 34 year old woman during a mid-pandemic breakdown. So many things about my life, my habits, my struggles, and my overall function finally had answers and the more I dug, the more I realized most neurodivergent adults had very few supports, tools, and resources designed specifically for them. I took my design degree and dove into researching what could be better and designed my first planner. Since I have designed hundreds of planners, products, tools, resources, and strategies for thousands of humans who have helped me grow as a small business but also as a mom of five, an employer of ten employees, a partner to my spouse, a community asset by opening a storefront, and most importantly in my own mental health journey. It's messy af, but it's happening. And I'm here for it. At the end of the day, I'm here to make good design, productivity, functionality, and awareness accessible to as many humans as I can. But hell if I'm not going to throw some sparkle on it before I ship it out. Follow the dopamine, party people. And let's get busy. :)

Dave Selden started 33 Books Co. as a side project to his side project. A weekend homebrewer and beer blogger, he developed a unique pocket beer-tasting notebook in 2009 to help take notes on the beers he was writing about. I started Imperfect Inspiration in February of 2021 after being diagnosed with ADHD as a 34 year old woman during a mid-pandemic breakdown. So many things about my life, my habits, my struggles, and my overall function finally had answers and the more I dug, the more I realized most neurodivergent adults had very few supports, tools, and resources designed specifically for them. I took my design degree and dove into researching what could be better and designed my first planner. Since I have designed hundreds of planners, products, tools, resources, and strategies for thousands of humans who have helped me grow as a small business but also as a mom of five, an employer of ten employees, a partner to my spouse, a community asset by opening a storefront, and most importantly in my own mental health journey. It's messy af, but it's happening. And I'm here for it. At the end of the day, I'm here to make good design, productivity, functionality, and awareness accessible to as many humans as I can.
