With an emphasis on the process of mold making the work starts as lines and shapes in 3D modeling software. Emily uses modern technology as an aid in creating prototypes that are used to make plaster molds. Using colored porcelain each piece is cast in a mold and finished by hand. The functionally of the work is what drives the design and the idea of use is what drives the maker.
