Terracotta Hanging Shoe Planters

Taking a cue from a familiar totem often found hanging from power lines, shoe pots bring a sense of whimsy to your plant collection. These ceramic pots are great for air plants and trailing greenery! 

Material: red terra cotta and brown nylon shoe laces

Each "shoe" measures approximately 8 inches long. Order includes a pair two shoes, one left and one right. Perfect for hanging on a hook indoors or out.

I started up my brand after seeing a pair of shoes hanging from a power line. I liked how they looked dangling and twirling with the wind. I had just learned ceramic mold making and sought to recreate this scene using a more permanent material. While making the ceramic shoes, It occurred to me that they could be great planters. After a couple of iterations, Shoe Pots ended up being one of my most successful products. For every product I make, I try to have this same approach. I look for the beauty in everyday things and reinterpret them by altering form, material and context.
